MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Book Fair is back after last year’s virtual event and will kick off this Sunday, November 14 at the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College in downtown Miami.
“My God I could start to cry, this is our 38th year,” said Lisette Mendez, director of programs, Miami Book Fair.

Last year’s Book Fair was completely virtual due to the pandemic, but as the number of COVID continues to drop across the county, organizers said it was now safe for the Book Fair to return. .
The 2021 Miami Book Fair is slightly smaller this year, with 150 authors, who will be showcasing their literature instead of 500.
Local author Kristen Arnette told CBS4 she looks forward to face-to-face interactions with attendees.

“I think it’s special and we don’t have a lot of other places.” Arnette, author of “Avec Dents”.
Arnette is one of the authors who will present their work at the book fair.
The event organizers will also host a virtual part of the fair.
“Book fairs are pretty crucial, I think, not only for readers but also for authors. It’s a chance to come together, ”said Arnette.

The Book Fair begins on Sunday November 14 and ends on November 21.
