The opposition Nationalist Bangladesh Party will organize a two-day programme, including a book fair and an exhibition on the country’s liberation war as part of the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of independence.
Amanullah Aman, head of the BNP’s sub-committee on ‘Decoration, Liberation War Book Fair and Photo Exhibition’ formed to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Independence, announced the program during a held a press conference at its central office in Naya Paltan in Dhaka.
He said the program will start at Jatiya Press Club on March 23.
Aman said the fair and exhibition would remain open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day while the cultural program would start at 5 p.m.
The book fair and exhibition will feature books by prominent authors on the war of liberation, politics, research-based publications, stories, poems, novels and analysis, photographs captured by photographers, as well as paintings by artists.
BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain will open the book fair and exhibition at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium on March 23 at 10:30 a.m.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the guest of honor at the closing ceremony on March 24 at 3:00 p.m.
Aman said their party’s committee on the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Independence began its work almost a year ago and will end on March 26.
He said the committee organized various programs across the country for a year, marking the Golden Jubilee.
