UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – A major in-person book fair returns to the Upper West Side this weekend for its 35th performance after having to go online in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Goddard Riverside Book Fair will be held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days at UWS Headquarters at 593 Columbus Avenue (West 88th Street).
The popular neighborhood annual event will feature new books at half price on both days.
“Buyers tell us the Book Fair isn’t just about books – it’s about seeing friends and enjoying a holiday tradition,” said Goddard Riverside Executive Director Roderick L. Jones, in a press release. “We are delighted to welcome the community back to browse the tables.”
Entrance to the show is free and all buyers must show proof of a COVID vaccination or negative PCR test within the past 72 hours to enter. Additionally, there will be a one-way flow through the building and masks will be required.
Publishers donate the books for sale and the proceeds go to Goddard’s programs for the community, including early childhood education, after-school programs and homeless outreach.
You can find out more about the book fair on the Goddard event page.
