Tejashwi to Attend DMK Chief Stalin’s Book Launch Event in Chennai

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also expected to attend the event where a book written by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin will be launched.

PATNA: Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, along with a host of prominent leaders, will attend Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s book launch event in Chennai on Monday.

“Tejashwi will travel to Chennai and attend the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) leader’s book launch event,” said Shyam Rajak, senior leader and former minister of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Reportedly, top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will also attend the event where a book written by Tamil Nadu CM and DMK leader on his political journey will be launched.

The visit of Yadav’s descendant to meet the DMK leader is seen as significant as the opposition leader, considered the heir apparent to RJD leader Lalu Prasad, has spoken out on regional party unity. He had met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in January this year.

Sources said the RJD’s attempt to contest a majority of seats in upcoming Council polls in local constituencies by ignoring Congress’s seat-sharing request signaled how the party is focused on positioning itself as the biggest player. of Bihar against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

There is speculation that Tejashwi wants to join a third front proposed by several regional parties including Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to fight the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP in 2024 parliamentary polls. “Tejashwi is certainly trying to improve his image as a national leader by strengthening his ties with prominent regional leaders, including the head of the TMC and the head of the DMK,” a senior RJD official said.
