Here is a review from the publisher’s site. https://www.finishinglinepress.com/product/sister-sorrow-by-rachel-landrum-crumble/
“The task in Rachel Landrum Crumble’s lyrically heroic Sister Sorrow is to write against what Emily Dickinson called “the heavenly wound” as well as its earthly counterpart, and how wonderfully it succeeds! masterful, it’s as if we’re following the pattern of a redemptive ode. From the start, for example, she exclaims, “my own pain shimmers like wind chimes”, – this complex metaphor and line break heralding not just pain but hope in the music of poetry itself. So while “sorrow will live in the rubble”, the triumph here is to discover how, like the fireflies in “Luminous”, we must” enlighten the world from within”. “For my part, I am fully enlightened by this wonderful and moving book. –Richard Jackson, author of Broken horizons and Where does the wind come from
