The 19th edition of the “Pune Book Fair” held at Creaticity off Airport Road, Yerawada was opened on Friday by the famous writer Ashok Kamat.
Creative City Managing Director, M Mahesh.PNR Rajan Convener of Pune Book Fair, Deepak Karandikar, All India Radio Program Director Inderjit Bagel, Rohit Jerajani and Filmmaker Sikandar Sayed attended the occasion. PNR Rajan gave the welcome speech.
Kamat praised Rajan for starting the reading movement through the Pune Book Fair and continuing it over the past 18 years. The exhibition of books will certainly help to transmit knowledge in all languages, philosophy and values of life to present and future generations and contribute to the progress of society.
Inderjit Bagel said, “The world of mobile phones and the internet has had a negative impact on people’s reading habits. He appreciated Rajan’s efforts to run the Pune Book Fair. Akashvani has always supported all activities of the Pune Book Fair and assured that it will be the same in the future.
The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Books on Buddhist and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by Ajantha Prakashan, Census Operations Branch, Govt. of India, self help, spirituality, management, personal growth, National Film Archive of India showing the ‘Glorious 100 years of Indian Films’ featured books on different topics, according to a statement.
Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad held a program on “Lekhak aaplya bhetila” on May 1 at 11 a.m. at Pune Book Fair.
The Pune Book Fair is open to all from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Sunday, May 1, 2022.
