Penn Hills Library, 1037 Stotler Road, welcomes author Will Brandstetter for the launch of his second book on October 23rd.
Published by HOP/Shorehouse Books, “The law of the heart? ” East a follow-up to the series premiere, “Heartly God?”
Brandstetter said “Heartly Law?” is the story of a priest who commits an indescribable act – trying to murder another person in a crowded church. He fails in his attempt and is quickly arrested. The story follows the public defender assigned to represent him as the police department struggles with the realization that a single wrongdoing should not define a person who has lived such an exemplary life of service. The story also gives insight into the public defender’s mindset and trial strategies as he works feverishly to save the old priest from dying in prison. The story ends with a dramatic trial of the alleged killer priest.
Brandstetter graduated in 1993 from Penn Hills High School.
The library also goes host an open house, which will include offerings from Sobel’s Obscure Brewery, Italian Little Nicky’s and several craft vendors.
