Doha Book Fair a gateway to promote exchange of cultural experiences: minister


Yesterday, Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani visited the Doha International Book Fair.

Doha: Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani stressed that the Doha International Book Fair is an important cultural gateway for all segments of society for its contribution to the promotion of the exchange of cultural experiences between the countries of the world.

The Minister noted that Doha has welcomed many countries from around the world to the Fair throughout its history, enabling the exchange of cultural and intellectual science and showcasing the latest international publications.

In statements to the press during his visit to the Fair yesterday, the Minister said that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is keen to consolidate the culture of reading and science among its staff, encouraging the development of the aspect of scientific research and by providing the best capacity to launch the most important scientific works and research, particularly in the fields of the environment and climate change, to ensure the development of its mechanism of action over the long term .

The Minister noted that the pavilion of ministries participating in the Fair includes a distinguished number of publications concerned with the environment, adding that a scientific book on the use of recycled stones in construction was launched yesterday, with the aim of support the sustainability strategy through the effective implementation of recycled stone in construction, thereby reinforcing the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on environmental preservation and protection .

He underscored the ministry’s keenness to publish books that highlight its achievements and efforts.
