The 45th Chennai Book Fair will be held for 18 days from January 6 to 23 at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam. The Chennai Book Fair is an annual event organized by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).
School and college students will be admitted free of charge. Otherwise, the ticket price for the general public is Rs 10.
BAPSAI Chairman Vairavan said the 45th Chennai Book Fair will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekends.
Like last year’s book fair, the exhibition will be held in 800 halls. Visitors and readers will also be given masks during the event. Vairavan said measures will be taken to ensure control of food prices.
The Book Fair, which is a treat for all book lovers, takes place every January. Around 15 lakh people visit the annual Chennai Book Fair every year.
The exhibition will be opened by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, on January 6 at 6 p.m. Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi is expected to attend the event.
Special vaccination camp?
As well as access to an incredible collection of books, online reports suggest the fair will also offer a special vaccination camp to help the public in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
