Book launch brings over $ 750 to Comox Valley nonprofits

All Recollections funds support Habitat for Humanity and Anderton Gardens.

“We live in an amazing community,” says The Group of Glacier Writers.

The launch of the Re-Collections book, news by authors Ken McBeath, Kathy Mason, Kunio Yamagishi, Penelope Rokeby, Sharon McInnes, Cathy M. Doyle and Marlet Ashley, was a great success due to the interest and generosity of over 50 people who attended the launch at Anderton Gardens on September 25th. Pieter Molenaar, local artist, painted “Comox Glacier” for the cover of Re-Collections, and donated the original painting as a prize at the launch. The lucky winner was Judy Raume from Courtenay (Photo below).

All proceeds from sales of the book go to Habitat for Humanity and Anderton Gardens, and the writers were proud to donate over $ 750 with ongoing profits to be sent each year.

The Glacier Writers Group, part of the Comox Valley Writers Society, an organization open to anyone interested in writing, thanks the CVWS for its support. Re-Collections are available at Laughing Oyster in Courtenay and Blue Heron in Comox. Both bookstores sell Re-Collections for $ 20, with all funds going to support Habitat for Humanity and Anderton Gardens. Books are also available from Marlet Ashley at 2marz@live.ca
