Recommendations for the 46th Book Fair

On opening day, as the hours go by, more and more people enter La Rural. The supply of books in the stands are numerous. At the entrance you will be able to access a map, essential to locate yourself in this labyrinth of books, people and activities.

Guillermo Saccomanoone of Argentina’s most important writers, author of “Camera Gesell”“The good pain”, “The language of Malón”, among other books, He was responsible for delivering the opening speech for this 46th edition. Without hesitation, he handed out reviews to paper mills and the book industry, remembering his friend Juan Forn, a writer who had died the previous year.

The writer insists on his vocation and says: “Life is short, one writes against the ephemeral. Writing is the often frustrated attempt to capture moments of beauty, save them so that they survive despite the finiteness. It is written in solitude, but no stranger to social contradictions. You need a great tolerance for failure in this business.

“While I was writing this text, to ease the tension, with the awareness that this speech will soon be forgotten, I went out into the night, into the woods. I approached an ancient tree, I touched it, I breathed in the darkness. Returning to the table, the black pen and the page, something had happened, a kind of gratitude. And I continued to write. I wouldn’t trade this job for anything in the world.concludes Saccomanno.

The organization has informed that this edition there will be a celebration Joseph Saramago through the read marathon; a Gabriel Garcia Marquez on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his Nobel Prize and the famous Almudena Grandes.
